Could you grasp?

I sit in this room talking to a friend about a dilemma of his choice. The idea that he is trying to convey seems to have a very simple outcome. Yet it seems as though he is struggling to come up with a logical solution to it. A simple yet effect lump of words are uttered to him and he is silenced. For a moment he stares into oblivion and snaps out of it, still unsure of his answer. Is life a series of moments or is it looked at in a larger perspective?
